Modern stuff

I can’t write every day so my new new resolution is to post here Wednesdays (covering Sun - Weds looks) and Sundays (Thurs - Sat). Like anyone cares.

Wednesday, Jan. 8

Pulp sweatshirt

Pulp Vintage in Monti sells vintage items and reworked / new items under their own label. Odd stuff. They had these tie necklaces that I went gaga over. I ended up bringing three of them home, but I haven’t been able to make any of them work. I smell a challenge.

I’m not sure if these are actual Fornasetti prints. No matter. I’m not much for sweatshirts, but this one is special. Super wide, cropped, with velvety Fornasetti-like ladies to keep me company.

Engineered Garments scarf / poncho

A sconcho? A parf? However you call it, it’s a two-for-one investment that works particularly well on planes. I used to have 3 of these but lost one somehow, somewhere. Ah well, appreciate the kids who lived.

Guys compliment me when I wear these, and often say that they wish they could wear a poncho. I say it’s your Christian duty to own anything cape-like.

Prada loafers

Bought from the Prada SoHo flagship store like 9 years ago. Has it really been that long? They remind me of the studded fringe from their 2009 collection. They also remind me of a spider eyes, or the Ohmu from Nausicaä. Stately, modern, kooky, and a little sinister. Quintessential Prada.
