Rudeboy
I missed the Lunar New Year luncheon in the office, but I celebrated the Year of the Snake with my shoes. 2025 is to be a year of growth, renewal, and adaptability. I’m gonna need those in spades.
The Year of the Snake outfit
H&M knit hat
Now if only I had actually affixed the rubber snake to this hat when I wore it today. I could’ve pulled off the look; I once walked to the gym wearing a hat that I had just pulled from the dryer, not realizing there was a sock stuck to the side of it. I like to think it made me look artsy.
Oak + Fort scarf
Checkerboard was trendy a few years ago, but I’m more worried about this scarf making me look like a wannabe rudeboy than I am about appearing out-of-date. I love it. Pairing this with the China pink hat makes me think of Neapolitan ice cream.
Johnson Leathers chevron jacket
The breaking-in continues. Happy with the choice of lining.
Sage advice: Snakes and bunnies. Don’t search that on YouTube.
Prada Brique bag
This photo reminds me of when I bought the rubber snake at Fremont Vintage Mall. I kept it in my crossbody bag for the day while I ran errands. When I was paying for something else in another shop, the cashier noticed the snake poking out of my purse and gave me a quizzical look. I just shrugged and rolled my eyes. Being a gay witch is hard to explain.
Striped fingerless gloves
The sweet shopkeeper who owns Last Fashion in Camden gave these to me for free after I tried everything on in her store. I hope to see her this March.
Gucci snake shoes
I’m going to wear these more this weekend, and not just because of the New Year. They’re supremely comfortable and I could do with their regenerative properties. And they look great with my pants.
新年快乐 and 红包拿来!
