Luxe atomizer

As Roddy Frame of Aztec Camera once sang, “When the rainy season comes I hang my head.” Closing the end of January with some serious Davek umbrella time, a trip to the nearby antique jewelry shop, and dinner with Southwest Airlines at Chez Cheesecake.

I was hoping to do a month-by-month analysis of what I’ve worn most vs. least, but Squarespace is limited with tag aggregating across pages, and after the workweek I’ve had, I don’t have the brainpower to glean much from data.

The Rainy Ring Resizing outfit

Signet ring

Every time I’m throwing things into the garbage disposal, I worry that my ring will slip off my pinky and go down the drain (breaking the machinery). So I went to a nearby antique and estate jewelry store to see if they could resize it (either bigger to go on my ring finger, or smaller to fit more securely on my pinky).

They inspected it to see what it’s made of. For a second I was worried they were going to say “this is JUNK” - but it’s actually made of silver. Unfortunately, silver melts easily and would ruin the structure and stone setting if we attempted to make the ring malleable for resizing. So I need to make my pinky fatter.

Hermes tee

Fitting that I was wearing this while talking about melting and reshaping silver: among his many attributes, Hermes is the god of alchemy and transmutation. Didn’t fix my ring issue. :(

Undercoverism coat
Zara cardigan

The perfect combo for warmth and water repelling without feeling bulky.

Dolce & Gabbana boots

It’s boot weather, and today’s outfit required something sharp. I don’t want to look like all I’m thinking about is staying dry / warm. I want people to worry that I’ll slip in my lobby in these. Keep ‘em on edge!

Topologie bag
Casette card holder

With the rain, I decided to spare my leather bags and reached for this guy, which paired great with the coat. Using thiis means streamlining my belongings. I rediscovered these cassette wallets that I bought off the street in Trastevere (circa 2018). They’re amazing. Holding a cassette makes me want to make someone a mixtape.

L’Officine Universelle Buly cucumber and mint parfum

Southwest Airlines and I chatted about manifesting a million dollars, the hidden horrors of Disneyland, and her love of scents. I immediately told her about the fragrance I was wearing, which I picked up in Japan (but will buy more of in Selfridges - mark my words).

The store, the bottles, and my god the fragrance - I ended up buying two bottles. I’m a sucker for beautiful packaging, and everything from the gorgeous script in which they hand-wrote my name on the box, to this beautiful bottle and its luxe atomizer, to the box-like bag you’re presented when you finish your purchase in their gorgeous shop… it all created a singular experience that cemented my fandom.

A lot of guys include what they spray when they share what they wear, so I figured this deserves an honorable mention.
