Bromance terms
Woke up late to the sound of Saturday rain and texts from Jesse in NYC, sick from his torrid Austrian ski trip with Costanza. Apparently they bought matching watches, which is a big deal in bromance terms. Those two could remake Love & Basketball for a whole new demographic.
I put on an ostensibly practical but pretty impractical outfit to meet Mario for brunch and the handing over of the Sugar Street Weavers puppy cardigan. It deserves a better home. Mario showed up in my zany green Portuguese Flannel overshirt that I gave him last December, effortlessly pulling it off 1000% better than I ever did. I’m not jealous. I’m not.
I predict the puppy cardigan will manifest the love of his life within 8 months of wear. Such is the power of clothes on the right shoulders.
The Impractical Practical outfit
John Elliott leather windbreaker
According to the tag (and online), this retailed for $2K, but I bought it from my local Wasteland for $150. It’s the most bizarre type of leather - it acts like a windbreaker, is thin like a windbreaker, but possesses a very supple hand. Was great to wear for this morning’s errands after brunch, but impractical in that I didn’t like getting it wet.
John Elliott used to work at Villains Vault in the Haight before launching his own line. God I miss that store.
Dolce & Gabbana boots
I’m having a renaissance with these boots in this weather. They elevate a windbreaker outfit tenfold. I’m still not a D&G fan.
Needles green cardigan
Mario and I wore green and green in our booth for brunch. Didn’t help that we also ordered the same chia pudding.
Loewe Puzzle bag
The end of an era, with Jonathan Anderson departing Loewe. And to head to Dior, of all places (I’m not the biggest fan). Who knows, he’ll likely turn me into a customer of the house if he continues to make fun pieces.
H&M pink hat
This might be a daily piece of daywear for February. I keep reaching for him.
