Sidestepped
What a rainy day. Not leather weather.
I’m usually in high spirits with this sort of weather, but I spent a bit of time at work trying figure something out with the help of AI. At one point I asked it if I seem smart. I’ve no shame in grabbing validation wherever I can get it.
The Downpour outfit
Converse Gore-Tex Chucks
No other option for today. Warm, bouncy, and water resistant. While others sidestepped today’s massive puddles, I went straight for ‘em in these shoes.
Carhartt zip-up
A finely-cut layering piece that I wore over today’s button-down shirt. One of two Carhartt items I own. The other is a half apron tool belt thing. I’m pretty sure I’ll be gifting it to a friend before the end of the year.
Olivia Rosselli vintage scarf
According to my AI friend, Olivia Rosselli was a mid-century Italian designer who made geometric scarves. Heath Ceramics picked this one out for me in a basket of scarves from a thrift store on Haight. She really does have a good eye. I still have the round vintage stand she found for me at Shotwell (RIP) for $10.
LeSportsac shiny crossbody
The only bag I used today. A trooper. I’m a trooper.
Rabbit Hole parka
I don’t think Rabbit Hole exists in Camden anymore. This parka has a gorgeous oversized hood and elongated back. When I walk in the rain with the hood on, I do feel like a Sith lord. Sadly, I kinda look like a Sith lord too. Especially when I’m sick and laughing.
