Sketches and fittings

Prada wool jacket

There’s a mesmerizing video by Chanel about the 130 hours that go into the making of a haute couture jacket. I’m not ashamed to admit that I’ve watched it over 100 times. I’m also not ashamed to admit that I pretend this jacket had a similar birth involving sketches and fittings in Hong Kong or Paris. It fits me to an almost custom degree, and deserves to be presented in a big box with tissue and camellias.

Some silky cream and gray around the face, some silver and black on the pinky, and I’m adequately accessorized.

Lower Park cap
Chanel Bombay Boy bag

I discovered Lower Park at Renegade Craft Fair a few years back and loved their five panel hats and patterns. I ended up buying two of their hats, but this one definitely gets more time in the sun. I love and black (or in this case navy) and white hat, and the random bit of yellow is just enough of a highlight.

And crap, I just looked at their site and am seriously considering buying myself a couple of new hats for my birthday.

I love a cap + Chanel combo. I prefer Chanel dressed down.

Dolce & Gabbana chelsea boots

These are officially my hero shoe of the season. If there’s one thing this blog has succeeded in doing, it’s making me love these neglected boots.

Proenza Schouler rucksack

Was delighted to find this bag significantly discounted (and on resale) at Tokio 7. I’d been secretly craving a loud bag after seeing Thandiwe Newton rummaging through her graphic tote, and I can’t explain the idiocy of wanting a luxury backpack. It’s impractical. But the heart wants what it wants.
