A tall handsome guy in his promising 20s

After a lunch at home consisting of lentil soup, hummus, and a slice of cherry pie, I headed to MoMa to look at the lamps they’re selling. Figured a museum gift shop was the perfect place to finally bust out this Sugar Street Weavers cardigan.

Spoiler: I didn’t buy a lamp.

The lamp hunting outfit

Sugar Street Weavers cardigan

Sugar Street knits have caught my eye at random shops because of their texture, but most of the artwork is too Country Time Lemonade for my liking. This was the first design that looked more pop art. I was lured by the sartorial challenge of defying the odds and making this cute cardigan work with my style. A canine cardigan magic trick. Sometimes I’m just an idiot.

I finally challenged myself to wear this in public, and I didn’t feel like myself one bit, precisely because it’s just not me and it never will be. I had to dampen its wholesome charm with a black J.Crew scarf. I should gift this puppy to a tall handsome guy in his promising 20s, and stick to clothes befitting an aging city witch.

Prada loafers

I love me a Prada loafer, but the unfinished feel on the inner sides of these shoes (when worn sans socks) has always bothered me. It’s a gross feeling, like rubbing your feet against previously wet, pulpy cardboard that has since dried and leaves its shavings between your toes. The toe shape and blue highlights are its redeeming qualities, but they’ve sat out of sight on the top shelf of my closet for at least a year. After wearing with them to MoMA with thin socks, they’ve proven to be much more comfy. I think I’ll be wearing these more often this winter / spring.
