This gauzy ghost of a layering piece has been used more indoors to fend off mosquitos (my building is haunted by them). I might be imagining things, but I read that this material possesses insect-repelling qualities, which would explain the hood that covers the entire head, front to back. The brand is supposedly inspired by Japanese fly fishing, or something like that.

Equal parts sci-fi, night nurse, and disco. Whenever I put these on with an outfit, there’s a fleeting first impression that it won’t work; then its white simplicity sinks in and I end up happy with the result. I can’t explain the way these shoes work, but then again, do I really have to?
